Andrew Scott plays Tom Ripley. Dakota Fanning plays Marge Sherwood. Johnny Flynn plays Dickie Greenleaf in the latest take on Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel, The Talented Mr Ripley.

There was - of course - the 1999 film written and directed by Anthony Minghella and starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Tom Ripley, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home.

Tom's acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder, in a limited series that certainly looks the business.

Robin Williams: A Life in Ten Pictures, 9.00pm, BBC Two

Robin Williams' image is famous around the world. His suicide in 2014 sent shock waves across continents as he was a much-loved comic and actor.

He’s widely regarded as one of the greatest stand-up comics and one of Hollywood's most recognisable actors. But could just a handful of photos uncover new truths about his life?

Here, ten images are used to reveal a new story, as told by those who were there and who knew him best, including Mork and Mindy co-star Pam Dawber and his first wife Valerie Velardi.

The Dog House, 8.00pm, Channel 4

More matchmaking attempts are made at Woodgreen animal charity.

A boxer cross pup called Diesel likes to nibble a beard and - luckily - has two to choose from with couple Rob and Andy.

Plus, eager-to-please terrier Pippa takes Tasmin from London on a whirlwind romance. Meanwhile, 11-year-old terrier cross Holly arrives at the animal charity, shellshocked after losing her lifelong companion.

Taskmaster, 9.00pm, Channel 4

Greg Davies has to find a way to award points in his role as Taskmaster after watching Nick Mohammed sheath a water bottle with a sock, Joanne McNally tie a noose for a soft toy and Steve Pemberton repeatedly express a hankering for pancakes.

Meanwhile, assistant Alex Horne jots down all the facts and figures as John Robins puts his faith in honey and Sophie Willan attempts to take flight.

Big Mood, 10.00pm, Channel 4

The Nicola Coughlan-starring comedy continues with another double-bill.

Maggie throws her first ever dinner party to prove to her new therapist and her agent that she's mentally stable.

Meanwhile, Eddie revisits an old flame who might solve all her problems.

Then at 10.35pm, Maggie is worried about Eddie committing to her controlling boyfriend, so drags her to the woods for a pagan festival to distract her.

But things don't go according to plan and the fate of Eddie's bar hangs in the balance.

The Complaints Bureau, 7.00pm, RTÉ One

Amy Molloy uncovers the story of the unfinished log cabin, the contractor who decided to leave Ireland and the settlement agreement that was never settled.

Conor Pope tries to recover money from a Covid-cancelled Spanish wedding trip, and Siobhan Maguire meets a travel loving retiree, who has been trying for over two years to get his purportedly out-of-date airline voucher recognised.

The Apprentice, 9.00pm, BBC One

The candidates are tasked with creating a new vegan alternative to cheese to pitch to major retailers.

In the kitchen, one team's curry creation causes havoc, while on the other team, a premium product fails to deliver.

As ever, aides Karren Brady and Tim Campbell witness events on behalf of Alan Sugar (above) and, back in the boardroom, another candidate is left feeling decidedly cheesed off after being told to vacate the process.

Star Trek: Discovery, Paramount+

The fifth and final season will find Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the crew of the USS Discovery uncovering a mystery.

It will send them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries.

But there are others on the hunt as well - dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.

Dragons’ Den, 8.00pm, BBC One

A Viking reenactor wants to tame the Dragons with his take on an age-old drink - mead - and a husband-and-wife duo hope their outdoor art will wow in the Den.

A couple pitch their very personal supplement, business partner sisters think they've found the solution to the perfect at-home manicure, and a musician-turned-inventor hopes to drum up some support from the Dragons.
