Tell us three things about yourself . . .

Maria: I'm from the West of Ireland, you’ll nearly always find me near a big body of water, and I’m really terrible at answering these sorts of questions!

Lar: I’m a music nerd from Dublin, I am a dad to a cat called Maya, I was five years old the first time I saw a musician playing guitar, I remember that I was sitting on my dad's shoulders and I think that was the day that I fell in love with music.

How would you describe your music?

Maria: Songs for sensitivities.

Lar: Optimistic and hopeful

Who are your musical inspirations?

Maria: Regina Spektor, Joni Mitchell and Lisa Hannigan were my soundtrack when I was first starting to write. Currently continually inspired by writers like Angie McMahon and Olivia Barton, I’ve had their albums on repeat.

Lar: When I was a little dude, Radiohead and Nirvana changed my life. Now, as a grown-up, I will find inspiration in anything that moves me.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Maria: Paolo Nutini in the TF Theatre, Castlebar!

Lar: Radiohead in the RDS Dublin on the Ok Computer tour. A bit cooler than my second show, the Lighthouse Family, where I fainted, lol!

What was the first record you ever bought?

Maria: It was, very proudly, an S Club 7 CD.

Lar: I’m pretty sure it was a compilation of Disney songs, bought with my pocket money.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Maria: Divine Fault Line - Angie McMahon.

Lar: At the moment I keep going back to Broadcast - Echo’s Answer.

Favourite lyric of all time?

Maria: "People are just people, they shouldn’t make you nervous" - this whole verse in general from The Ghost of Corporate Future by Regina Spektor.

Lar: A recent line that has resonated with me is from Villagers' That Golden Time: "Before the dulling of the mind, Encased in algorithm blues, Hollowed out the heavy stuff, Replaced it with a careful ruse".

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Maria: Both Sides Now - Joni Mitchell.

Lar: Brian Eno - An Ending (Ascent).

Where can people find your music/more information?

Maria: You can find me on my website/Instagram/Spotify.

Lar: Anywhere you dig out your tracks! X, my website, Instagram/Soundcloud/Spotify.
