Speaking about the track, he says, "It really represents a passion I have for storytelling in my songwriting and a love for sonic exploration I have when creating music.
"I love any and all genres so I try to keep an open mind when creating a new song - for example this being somewhat of a folk/pop tune with electronic elements."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I love song writing, I believe when you get into a good flow of it, it can be one of the best types of therapy out there. I am a photographer; I don't have a specific style I lean more towards but I definitely would love to get into wildlife photography this year. I probably watch the Lord of The Rings trilogy 10 times per year.
How would you describe your music?
I believe as a musician, this is one of the hardest questions to answer because my musical interests are so broad. I love everything from soft acoustic folk to hard-hitting metal, lo-fi and Country. The music I am currently releasing this year seems to be electronic/folk/pop/rock… if that is a thing. Though one thing I aim to have in all my songs is a strong melody and message that makes the listener feel something.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Artists that definitely shaped my interest in music and still do would be the likes of the Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Bon Iver, Charlie Simpson and much more, but there is such great new music out there at the moment. I really love what Lizzy McAlpine, Zach Bryan and Boygenious are doing. Their music undeniably raises the hairs on the back of your neck in my opinion…. very inspiring!
What was the first gig you ever went to?
The first gig I ever went to was Blink 182 at the Point Theatre! (it was the o2 at the time I think?) it was an amazing night, so good to see them back together again now with Tom!
What was the first record you ever bought?
The first record I ever bought was the iconic Permission to Land by The Darkness.
What’s your favourite song right now?
My favourite song right now is End of Beginning by Djo.
Favourite lyric of all time?
Tough question. Blood Bank by Bon Iver paints such amazing imagery with some of my favourite lyrics of all time: "Then the snow started falling, we were stuck out in your car, you were rubbing both my hands, chewing on a candy bar, you said, `ain't this just like the present, to be showing up like this?’ as a moon waned to crescent we started to kiss’.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Riverbanks by Charlie Simpson.
