Dolly Parton has responded to Beyoncé's version of her hit song, Jolene.
The cover of Jolene appears on Beyoncé's new album, Cowboy Carter, with some lyrics changed from Parton's original version, which was released in 1973.
Parton gave her verdict on the new edition, writing on social media, "Wow, I just heard Jolene.
"Beyoncé is giving that girl some trouble and she deserves it! Love, Dolly P."

In the new version, Beyoncé sings that she is "warning" Jolene "don't come for my man", as opposed to Parton's version, in which she sings, "I'm beggin’ of you, please don’t take my man."
Beyoncé, who is married to rapper Jay-Z, incorporated several further lyric changes throughout the song and at one point sings, "We've been deep in love for 20 years / I raised that man, I raised his kids / I know my man better than he knows himself."
Parton, 78, also appears on the Cowboy Carter album. She voices a 22-second long interlude track called Dolly P, which leads into Jolene.
The new country-inspired album from Beyoncé features surprise duets with Miley Cyrus and Post Malone, as well as a cover of The Beatles' classic Blackbird.
The new release was preceded by two hit singles - Texas Hold 'Em and 16 Carriages - which were released on Super Bowl Sunday and ushered in the singer's country era.
