Emma Stone, Yorgos Lanthimos and Dublin's Element Pictures reunite for Kinds of Kindness

Oscar-winning Poor Things star Emma Stone, director Yorgos Lanthimos and Dublin-based production company Element Pictures have unveiled the trailer for their latest big-screen outing - Kinds of Kindness.

Hot off the awards season success of Poor Things, Lanthimos has reunited with his leading star Stone, as well as supporting actors Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley.

Kinds of Kindness also stars Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer.

Alwyn previously worked with Lanthimos and Stone on the 2018 Oscar-winning The Favourite which was also produced by Element Pictures.

Irish cinematographer Robbie Ryan, Oscar-nominated for Poor Things, also worked on Kinds of Kindness.

A synopsis for the film reads: "Kinds Of Kindness is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader."

Lanthimos co-wrote the script for Kinds of Kindness alongside Efthimis Filippou, with whom he previously collaborated with on The Lobster, Killing of a Sacred Deer and Dogtooth.

Kinds of Kindness follows the triumph of Poor Things at the Oscars, which won four awards including Best Actress for Stone.

The film was nominated for a total of 11 Oscars, including Best Picture.
