The track came to life after he listened to Every Breath You Take by The Police.

Speaking about the song, he says, "It's about letting go of a long-term relationship. Getting a handle on everyday life without that person. It's an honest song that describes a situation that I experienced myself."

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I love and play football, write songs and I'm a stage hog.

How would you describe your music?

I'm a live musician and that's also the sound of the single Watching You Again and of the latest album Bustin' The Shell. Belanu is energetic, raw, unfiltered and damn honest.

Who are your musical inspirations?

When I was a child, my father always played me a lot of music at home. He had a large record collection, which I now have taken over. I fell immediately in love with the classics like Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Prince, Miles Davis, Led Zeppelin etc. I loved the music but also the artwork on the records. As a young guitarist, I was always looking for a guitar hero and to this day it's still Jimi Hendrix. I was fascinated by him, his songwriting, his guitar playing or the way he looked.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

To be honest, I can't remember my first gig I ever went to. But I remember the concert that had the biggest impact on me. I was working backstage for the Gurten Festival in Bern, Switzerland in the summer of 2022 to earn some money and I hated the lineup. My best friend, who is also the drummer in my band, wrote me that Jack White was on tour and would be playing in Zurich. After my 16-hour shift, I drove to Zurich and experienced the best concert I've ever seen. His charisma, the band, the music and the atmosphere were all perfect and I was lying on the floor in front of the main entrance after the concert and was completely baffled. My friend literally had to carry me home. What a great concert that was.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Revolver by The Beatles on vinyl

What’s your favourite song right now?

I really dig Begin Again by The Mysterines.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"I’m feeling supersonic".

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I’m listening to The Police, while I’m writing this interview, so I would choose Spirits in the Material World. I love Stewart Copeland’s drumming on this.
