Element Pictures has released the trailer for the second season of The Dry, with the series set to air on RTÉ "soon", according to the multi Oscar-winning production company.
The trailer release follows the success of Poor Things, their dark fantasy film starring Emma Stone and directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, which picked up four awards at Sunday night's Oscar ceremony.
The Dry is drama-comedy series written by BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Nancy Harris (Dates) and directed by Paddy Breathnach (Viva, Rosie). It focuses on lead character Shiv (played by Belfast actor Roisin Gallagher), a thirtysomething alcoholic who returns to her native south county Dublin after years of partying in London.

The upcoming season will feature a budding new romance brewing for Shiv with newcomer Alex (Sam Keeley), while Tom (Ciarán Hinds), becomes increasingly forlorn as a man on the verge of losing everything.

A new friendship arises for Bernie (Pom Boyd) with her sponsor Billy (Thommas Kane Byrne), and we see a return to home comforts for Ant (Adam Richardson) and Caroline (Siobhán Cullen).
The 8-part comedy drama is produced by Element Pictures for RTÉ and ITVX, in association with Fís Eireann/Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán and ITV Studios.
