Andrew Scott and Belfast's Laura Donnelly are among the nominees for this year's Olivier Awards, celebrating the best in theatre and musical theatre, in the UK.

Dubliner Scott is shortlisted in the Best Actor category for his work in Vanya, a new adaptation of the Anton Chekhov play Uncle Vanya, at the Duke of York's Theatre in London's West End.

Scott played every role in the production, which he co-created alongside director Sam Yates and adapter Simon Stephens. The production was staged last autumn.

Scott previously won Olivier Awards for Present Laughter (Best Actor) and A Girl in a Car with a Man (Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre).

This year, Donnelly is shortlisted in the Best Actress category for her performance in Jez Butterworth's The Hills of California at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London.

She previously won Best Actress for her performance in Butterworth's The Ferryman.

The Olivier winners will be announced at London's Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 14 April.
