Rio follows their debut single Got Sick and the new song holds a special place in the band’s hearts - it was the first track that made the audience sing along and request Delush to release it.
"We knew Rio had to be our next single based on the crowd alone," the band say. "Everyone sings the chorus like they’ve known the song all their lives. The first time we played it at practice we knew we were onto a hit. Now that it’s being released, we couldn’t be happier."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
My name’s Scott, I sing in the best band in the world, and I like oranges.
How would you describe your music?
Our music’s a mix of 90s nostalgia and modern alternative bands like Fontaines D.C.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Oasis, the Beatles, Nirvana, Kings of Leon, The Strokes. Bought Definitely Maybe on vinyl when I was 15 and wore the absolute life out of it. Had a Liam Gallagher haircut at one stage too, not my best look. Current inspiration is definitely Fontaines D.C. though. Skinty Fia is the best thing I’ve heard in a good while.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Shamefully, The Script. I was only about 12 and I went with my aunty. Wild night.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Revolver by The Beatles
What’s your favourite song right now?
That tune Grace off of Idles new album probably. That’s a cool tune, not what you expect from them.
Favourite lyric of all time?
Has to be the final verse of Solsbury Hill. Peter Gabriel was onto something when he wrote that. "When illusion spin her net, I'm never where I wanna be, And liberty, she pirouette, When I think that I am free".
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Dragula - Rob Zombie.
Where can people find your music/more information?
