Punk-inspired US band Pissed Jeans have released their new album, Half Divorced, and play Whelan's of Dublin on 3 April. We asked the band’s bassist Randy Huth the BIG questions . . .
Making music for two decades, Pissed Jeans are Matt Korvette (vocals), Bradley Fry (guitar), Randy Huth (bass), and Sean McGuinness (drums) and they are known for their acerbic sense of humour as they dismember some of the joys of contemporary adult life.

Speaking about their new album, Korvette says, "Half Divorced has an aggression within it, in terms of saying, I don’t want this reality. There’s a power in being able to say, I realize you want me to pay attention to these things, but I’m telling you that they don’t matter. I’m already looking elsewhere."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
My name is Randall Huth, I grew up in a cement dust covered town (Nazareth, Pennsylvania). I’ve been playing in punk and punk-adjacent bands for nearly 30 years.
How would you describe your music?
I think the best way to describe us is to say we sound exactly like Pissed Jeans.
Who are your musical inspirations?
I’m really most inspired by my friends, the rest of the guys in the band. For me the minute I was able to play guitar well enough to make a somewhat recognisable chord I was trying to put my own songs together. I think creating something for myself and my close-knit crew has always been what moves me the most.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
I saw the Ramones when I was 11 years old in Allentown, PA. My older cousin's girlfriend at the time took a crew of little kids to the show. I suppose it left an impression on my 5th grade brain.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Fat Boys - Crushin’.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Two Stars by RMFC.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"I wanna take the President, chop off his head, and mail it to them in a garbage bag!" The Crucif***s - Hinkley Had a Vision.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Hmmm, tough one. Maybe Mississippi John Hurt doing Louis Collins?
Where can people find your music/more information?
Bandcamp, Instagram, Twitter, Sub Pop, Twiitter, TikTok.
