Friday night's Late Late Show closed with presenter Patrick Kielty paying tribute to the late Saoírse Ruane, who first came to prominence on The Late Late Toy Show in 2020.

"Before we go tonight, I'd just like to take a moment to remember Saoírse Ruane, who we all fell in love with on the Toy Show in 2020 and who passed away this week," Kielty said.

"We can only imagine what Saoírse's family is going through tonight, and we just want to add one thing to the many beautiful tributes made to her over the past couple of days - and that is 'thank you'.

"When Saoírse inspired the very first Toy Show Appeal back then, little did any of us know that she was going to start something amazing, that in just four short years would help so many children and their families across Ireland," he said.

"Saoírse lit the touchpaper, in the same way she lit up our screens, and lit up the lives of her family and her friends, and we know that her light will continue to shine for so many, for so many years to come.

"From everyone on The Late Late Show, we send our love tonight to Saoírse's family."

A photo of the late Saoírse was then shown, accompanied by Dreams by The Cranberries.
