Dublin alternative pop producer, vocalist and video maker Jillelli has released her new single and music video, You're too Sweet. We asked her the BIG questions . . .
The music video was shot in Dublin cocktail bar Lisa's Yummy which I made with director Kristian Mantalvanos.
The new electro-pop track is described as "a delicious refute to cheap chat up lines" and is Jillelli's fifth release which she produced alongside Kevin Brennan and Whenthebeatisbad with vocal samples from Pietro Stradiotti.
Speaking about the video for the song, Jillelli says: "Lisa’s Yummy naturally captured the palette of the song and was the perfect place for the music video. We had to shoot in limited time but the backdrop lent so effortlessly to the song that everything came together quite smoothly."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I never studied music formally, I started making electronic music in my bedroom and learnt music production from YouTube tutorials and books. My first foray into music was as a hip-hop DJ and I am a big lover of hip-hop and rap. I made the music video for my first single Maybe by myself at home during lockdown, I put the camera on a ladder because I didn't have a tripod and edited it on my laptop afterwards.
