The long-awaited reboot of cop comedy The Naked Gun starring Irish actor Liam Neeson has received a release date, according to reports.
Paramount Pictures retweeted a social media post by trade publication Variety which stated that the reboot is due to hit cinemas on 18 July 2025.
The new movie is based off the hugely popular The Naked Gun television series and trio of films created by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker.
Neeson is reportedly set to lead the modern version of the slapstick films, which starred Leslie Nielson as Franklin "Frank" Drebin, a good-hearted yet gullible detective.

The currently untitled project will be directed and executive produced by Akiva Schaffer, with Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins slated to produce via their company Fuzzy Door.
