A new clip from the upcoming series of Bridgerton was shown at a major Netflix Valentine's Day fan event.
The clip shows Irish actress Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, confronting Luke Newton's character Colin Bridgerton.
She angrily admits that she overheard him at a ball the previous year saying to a large group of people that he would never court her.
In the clip, she says, "I am the laughing stock of the ton, even when I change my entire wardrobe.
"It just never occurred to me that you of all people could be so cruel," before storming off.
Executive producer Shonda Rhimes discussed the troubled romance of the fan favourites at the event.
"Usually we're meeting a new person who’s falling in love with one of our regulars," she said, when asked about what excites her most this season. "But this time, we know the people who are falling in love. We’re already rooting for them because we already know them, and I’m excited for that."

Season three showrunner Jess Brownell added, "Colin and Penelope are underdogs in many ways…we get to see these characters step into their power this year, which I think will make a lot of people who have ever had an unrequited crush or felt like an underdog before feel very seen."
They were also joined onstage by some of the cast at the event, including a new suitor for Coughlan's Penelope – Lord Debling, played by Sam Phillips.

The series will return to Netflix in two parts - the first to be released on 16 May and the second on 13 June.
