Coronation Street has announced that Jenny Platt will be reprising her role as Violet Wilson, 13 years after she last appeared in the ITV soap.

Coronation Street told fans: "Violet was last in Weatherfield in 2008 after she gave birth to her son, Dylan Wilson, with [his] father Sean Tully. Violet then moved to London with Dylan, leaving the show. She made a one-off appearance in an episode filmed on location in London in 2011, which is the last time we saw her.

"Violet will be returning to show support for her son who has recently been exposed for his involvement in the bullying of Liam Connor, alongside ringleader Mason Radcliffe. In the coming months, Dylan will be facing the serious repercussions of his actions and will be needing the support of both his parents.

"Violet will be back on screens on Wednesday 20th March 2024."

Coronation Street airs on Virgin Media One and ITV on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
