The Late Late Show presenter Patrick Kielty has said that he is an "absolute born romantic" as he teased viewers on what they can expect from tonight's Valentine's special - the first one he has hosted.
"I am an absolute born romantic… If I had a quid for every rom-com I’ve cried at..!" he said.
Speaking ahead of the now-annual staple of the show's calendar, he said, "We’ll be a Late Late love-in with a brilliant line-up and of course, there will be a Valentine’s Day theme with some stellar guests."
He will be joined by "one of the sexiest new music stars in the world, performing one of the biggest songs of the year" as well as "an Irish Hollywood movie star" and "one of Ireland’s most successful comedy exports".
Reality dating show Love Island will also be on the agenda, according to Kielty. "We’ll be talking Love Island to someone who knows it better than me, and I’ve convinced them all to share with me their first and worst dates of all time."
He'll also be playing matchmaker: "We’ll be trying to fix a disastrous first date live on air, which viewers will get to witness in real-time."
The Late Late Show Valentine's Special has seen its fair share of both funny and touching moments in recent years, including several marriage proposals and a vow renewal live on air.
When asked about his own Valentine's Day plans with wife, presenter Cat Deeley, he responded, "We won't be together this year as Cat is working in the States."
He also revealed the most romantic gesture he ever made. "I followed my heart all the way to Los Angeles to surprise my now wife for lunch. 12 years and two kids later, I think it worked out."
"So, this year I'll be waiting for her to fly home and take me to lunch!"
He described his idea of a perfect date as "two pints of Guinness and sharing a bag of King cheese and onion."
The Late Late Show, Fridays, 9:35pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
