From the creators of Smother comes a new mystery thriller that explores the DNA of one town’s relationship with shame, guilt and the price of success.

Blackshore follows DI Fia Lucey (Lisa Dwan), a laser- focused, ambitious detective who is haunted by her tragic past - a past she keeps locked away and unexplored.

When her career in Dublin is threatened due to a series of undue force allegations, Lucey is sent back to her home town of Blackwater to cool off and investigate a missing person case.

There she finds herself right back in the centre of a community who never forgot her family’s tragic past. It’s a tight-knit community that’s steeped in secrets and lies.

As well as Lisa Dwan, Blackshore stars Rory Keenan, Stanley Townsend, Andrew Bennett, Amy De Bhrún, Jade Jordan and Aidan McArdle.

Death in Paradise, 9.00pm, BBC One

The Caribbean-set crime drama returns for a 13th season, and there is a double celebration as the show marks its landmark 100th episode and Commissioner Selwyn Patterson celebrates 50 years of service.

As ever on this show, the party is cut short when the boss is shot by a mysterious assassin and left fighting for his life.

As the team members search for the culprit, will the police veteran survive?

Starring Ralf Little, Don Warrington and Shantol Jackson.

An Audience with Kylie, 10.00pm, Virgin Media One

Another chance to see this special as singer and actress Kylie Minogue takes to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London to entertain fans and a specially invited audience of VIP guests.

She'll be entertaining the crowd with some of her greatest hits from across her vast career and eagerly anticipated album Tension, including last year’s summer hit Padam Padam.

There are surprises and personal stories too, as she takes questions from the celebrity audience.

Sloinne, 8.30pm, TG4

Aodán Ó Ceallaigh is a primary school teacher who lives in Dublin but is originally from An Rinn in Waterford.

He goes on this journey back in time to trace the history of his surname and to find out about others with the same surname.

Along the way he traces the name in the Old Irish Manuscripts and from there learns that the name comes from an old Kingdom which no longer exists.

He visits the region to find out more and meets with people who tell him stories about others with the same surname, such as actress Grace Kelly and singer Luke Kelly.

In Search of Dracula with Mark Gatiss, 10.15pm, BBC Four

Mark Gatiss (below) who co-wrote the 2020 BBC series Dracula, explores and celebrates the iconic vampire.

He begins at Orava Castle in Slovakia, as used in the classic vampire film Nosferatu, then heads to the London Library on the trail of Dubliner and Dracula author Bram Stoker's newly discovered research literature.

In Philadelphia, he studies Stoker's hand-written notes and examines the abandoned ideas, plotlines and characters that went on to become this world-famous story.

He also meets with actors, experts and historians as he explores the Count's transition from page to screen - and even manages to reunite seven Hammer brides.

Wilderness with Simon Reeve, 9.00pm, BBC Two

Last week's episode in Patagonia was a fascinating look at an amazing part of the world. Here's to something similar though offering quite a contrast.

In this episode, Simon voyages across the Coral Triangle, a huge wilderness of tropical seas and jungle clad islands in the south-western Pacific, surrounded by the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

It’s one of the most beautiful and biodiverse corners of the word's oceans and is crucial to the health of the wider marine environment, having been described as the Amazon of the seas.

Sunday Cinema

Sister Act, 4.20pm, Channel 4

The hit comedy, starring Whoopi Goldberg, Harvey Keitel, Maggie Smith, Bill Nunn and Kathy Najimy, that’s become an equally popular musical.

Goldberg is in top form as nightclub singer Deloris Van Cartier, who agrees to testify against her gangster boyfriend after witnessing a murder.

Placed in protective custody by the authorities, she is less than pleased to discover she is expected to pose as chaste nun Sister Mary Clarence in a convent.

The Mother Superior (played by Maggie Smith) at the convent is equally unimpressed. But then the fun begins.

Sport

GAA Beo, 1.15pm, TG4

The afternoon’s GGA action begins with Clare v Cork (Throw-in 1.45pm). Micheál Ó Domhnaill presents coverage of the match in the opening round of Division One in the Allianz Hurling League, held at Cusack Park.

That’s followed at 3.30pm by Derry v Tyrone (Throw-in 3.45pm). Micheál Ó Domhnaill presents coverage of the match in Division One of the Allianz Football League at Celtic Park.
