Scottish singer Marti Pellow reflected on the impact that Wet Wet Wet's debut album had on his life during Friday night's Late Late Show.
Pellow, who was the lead singer of the pop group for 28 years, said that the fame and opportunities the Popped In Souled Out album brought was a "phenomenal thing."
"When I was sitting in my bedroom, dreaming of all that - you have the aspirations that you have - and for that to start to unfold at that age, with the rest of the guys I grew up with, was a phenomenal thing," he told presenter Patrick Kielty.
"And to have those songs take us round the world - everyday was like Christmas Day for us."
"You’re doing Top of the Pops and things like that… it was just an incredible time."
Reflecting on nearing 60 years of age, Pellow said that he now looks differently at songs he wrote early in his career. "I look at songs that I wrote when I was 15 - and I look at them now - and I interact with them in a different way. My wants and my needs for the songs are different," he said.
"If I could go back and talk to that young man, [I’d say] there’s some great writing going on there."

Pellow also spoke about his upcoming 3Arena concert with The RTÉ Concert Orchestra, set to take place on 10 March, and performed snippets of several of his group's hits.
The concert will feature songs from the 1987 album, including Angel Eyes and Sweet Little Mystery.
Also to be performed on the night are songs which do not feature on the album, including the group's most well-known cover, Love Is All Around, which appeared in hit rom-com Four Weddings and a Funeral in 1994.
Discussing the song, he said, "I never, ever thought in my wildest dreams that I’d have a song like that. I think it’s one of the biggest-selling love songs of all time. And to have that is incredible."
"And even now – I think it’s 30 years since that song came out and I’m still bumping into people who say, that song was number one when my kid was born, or we had that at our wedding.
"That’s the beauty of a great pop song, when it weaves its way into the fabric of people’s lives."
Pellow also performed some of The Beatles’ With A Little Help from My Friends, which Wet Wet Wet covered in 1988.
He and Kielty also played a game called Wet Wet Wet with three superfans of the band, with one unlucky entrant being doused in water when she got an answer wrong.
