Miriam Mullins eliminated from Dancing with the Stars

Miriam Mullins has become the second celebrity to be voted off series seven of Dancing with the Stars.

She and her professional partner Montel had danced a Cha-cha-cha, scoring 20 points from the judges, which unfortunately didn't prove enough to continue on their dancing journey.

Afterwards, Miriam said: "It's obviously devasting but I've had the best time on the show."

Miriam and her partner Montel will speak to Jennifer Zamparelli tomorrow morning just after 10am on 2FM for their first broadcast exit interview.

Earlier, it was lights, camera, action as the celebrities took to the dance floor for Movie Week, treating viewers to a variety of dance styles performed to songs from movie soundtracks.

The first celebrity to take to the dancefloor for Movie Week was actor Shane Quigley Murphy aka Mario and his partner Laura Nolan. They danced a Quickstep to Mr. Blue Sky from The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Loraine Barry said: "Two super dancers to the Quickstep, Love the connection you have and the beautiful frame."

Brian Redmond said: "You’re definitely levelling up week on week."

Shane and Laura scored 21 from the judges.

The second couple to perform were Paralympian Jason Smyth and his pro partner Karen Byrne. Their Rumba was danced to With These Hands from Edward Scissorhands.

Arthur Gourounlian said: "Last week you captivated everybody with your beautiful dance and tonight you literally captivated me with this commitment to the character. I mean, I absolutely love it."

Brian said: "A really good job. The competition is getting tight, so I just hope that you won't end up for the chop."

Jason and Karen scored 18 points from the judges.

Next up, former Miss World Rosanna Davison joined her pro partner Stephen Vincent. They danced a Contemporary Ballroom to Just like Fire from Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Brian said: "The lift was a little sticky but apart from that I think this is the best I’ve seen you dance."

Arthur said: "Week after week you keep surprising me... You’re like a perfect ballerina...I was in Wonderland."

Rosanna and Stephen scored 24 from the judges.

The fourth couple to perform were former newsreader Eileen Dunne partnered with Robert Rowiński, they took to the dancefloor with a Tango to Super Trouper from Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Loraine said: "The Super Trouper in theme but every week you are a super trouper! You bring it every week to all of us."

Arthur said: "You are unstoppable and sassy.. you are always going to be my Dancing Queen."

Eileen and Robert scored 17 from the judges.

Next up, singer David Whelan and his partner Salome Chachua danced a Jive to You Can Never Tell + Misirlou from Pulp Fiction.

Arthur said: "You guys are incredible, 1000%! You keep blowing me away every week. That was jive perfection."

Brian said: "One word: Blockbuster!"

David and Salome scored 27 from the judges.

Presenter Katja Mia and her pro partner Ervinas Merfeldas took to the floor and performed a Paso Doble to Queen of the Night from The Bodyguard.

Brian said: "It's movie week, you're talking about an iconic movie with an iconic leading lady. And I absolutely loved it because you totally embodied Whitney Houston."

Arthur said: "The way you attacked this Paso Doble you don’t need a Bodyguard...To me, you are the Queen of the Night!"

Katja and Ervinas scored 23 from the judges.

Jockey Davy Russell and his pro dancer Kylee Vincent danced a Charleston to Star Wars theme + Cantina Band from Star Wars.

Loraine said: "What a transformation from last week! I absolutely loved it…may the vote be with you!"

Brian said: "The hands were a bit more Chewbacca than Charleston, to be quite honest, and the two cartwheels had about as much agility as Jabba the Hutt. But apart from that all the swivels were excellent. It was really full all the way through and after last week's disaster, I think absolutely Davy Russell - The Empire Strikes Back!"

Davy and Kylee scored 21 from the judges.

The eighth couple to perform were social media star Miriam Mullins and her partner Montel Hewson. Their Cha-cha-cha was danced to Can't Stop the Feeling from Trolls.

Arthur said: "You are bundle of joy, I love your chemistry, you're growing week after week and I'm absolutely enjoying watching you."

Loraine said: "I thought your leg action was very good… you both did a great job in character."

Miriam and Montel scored 20 points from the judges.

Next up was radio and television presenter Laura Fox and her partner Denys Samson as they danced a Viennese Waltz to Somewhere over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz.

Loraine said: "The Viennese Waltz is the oldest dance we have but tonight you brought it alive."

Brian said: "You can't expect to come out here in ruby red slippers and not examine your feet and they're so important in the Viennese Waltz and I think you did a really good job."

Laura and Denys scored 22 points from the judges.

The final couple to dance tonight were Drag star Blu Hydrangea and their partner Simone Arena. Dance the Night from Barbie was the soundtrack for their Salsa.

Arthur said: "That was classy, camp, sassy, energetic salsa... You took everything we need to see in Salsa and you went for it."

Brian said: "You didn't have just two costumes, but you also had for the first time this season, three professional dancers and you absolutely did not look out of place. You hit every note you gave it as much energy."

Blu and Simone scored 25 from the judges.

For the grand finale, the professional dancers performed a musical showstopper to a megamix from Grease with a little twist on the iconic film.

The glitz, glamour, and nail-biting competition will all unfold as the series continues on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player next Sunday, 4 February at 6:30pm.
