Six-time Grammy award winner Billy Joel has announced that he is to release his first new single since 2008.

Turn The Lights Back On will be available on 1 February and can be pre-ordered now at the musician's official website.

The song was produced by Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Freddy Wexler and written by Wexler, Arthur Bacon, Wayne Hector, and Joel.

Joel, who is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, posted a short video teaser for the song on TikTok, following his debut on the social media platform in late December.

The video shows handwritten lyrics under the heading, "Famous last words" as well as including footage of the musician playing a snippet of the tune on the piano.

Joel is considered one of the most influential artists of all time and has sold over 160 million albums around the world.
