A night of music that begins with this collection of archive music performances from the year that’s synonymous with George Orwell.
The songs include Freedom by Wham!, Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Relax, Pride by U2, Against All Odds by Phil Collins, I Just Called to Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder, Madonna's Like a Virgin and Hello by Lionel Ritchie.
Followed at 9.35pm by Cyndi Lauper at the BBC, then George Michael at the BBC (10.05pm), Duran Duran (above) and Chaka Khan.

The impressive Mexican beauty pageant drama returns for a second season.
Isabel is crowned Miss Mexico and is living the life of a beauty queen in a five-star hotel. Meanwhile, Jocelyn and Angeles accept their fate and are sent to jail.
While Jocelyn unexpectedly finds protection from narco boss La Madrina, Angeles does not.
Episode two follows at 9.45pm.

Poor oul’ Parkie may be gone, but remains quite a presence in the Beeb’s archives.
In an episode from 2002, the UK’s king of chat Michael Parkinson welcomes funnyman and explorer Michael Palin (below), who talks about his expedition across the Sahara Desert.
He also talks to veteran BBC news correspondent Kate Adie, discussing her distinguished career, and actor-comedian Ricky Gervais, who reveals the inspiration for David Brent, his obnoxious character in award-winning sitcom The Office.
Plus, there's some music by Norah Jones.
