Watch: Irish eyes on BAFTA nominations

Irish actors Barry Keoghan, Paul Mescal, Cillian Murphy and Andrew Scott are tipped to be among the nominees when the shortlist for this year's British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) film awards is announced this afternoon in London.

Keoghan (Saltburn), Murphy (Oppenheimer) and Scott (All of Us Strangers) are in contention for Leading Actor nominations.

Mescal (All of Us Strangers) is vying for a nomination in the Supporting Actor category.

The Emma Stone-starring dark fantasy Poor Things, which includes the Dublin-based Element Pictures among its producers, is expected to receive multiple nominations, among them Irish cinematographer Robbie Ryan.

The Netflix documentary The Deepest Breath, directed by Kildare filmmaker Laura McGann, could also be nominated.

The awards take place in London's Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 18 February.
