The official trailer for Jennifer Lopez's latest passion project has been released.

This Is Me…Now: A Love Story is the singer and actress' upcoming film and is billed as "nothing you've ever seen from Jennifer Lopez" and a "genre-bending Amazon original [that] showcases her journey to love through her own eyes."

Its billing claims that Lopez has "created a narrative-driven cinematic odyssey, steeped in mythological storytelling and personal healing" and that it will feature "fantastical costumes, breathtaking choreography, and star-studded cameos" and is an "introspective retrospective of Jennifer's resilient heart."

Lopez narrates the two minute long video, which begins with her saying, "I know what they say about me, about hopeless romantics - that we're weak - and I'm not weak."

It goes on to showcase Lopez's character singing, dancing and acting in a variety of fantastical settings, as well as showing her in a therapy session and at several of her own weddings.

Also shown is a scene where her friends appear to stage an intervention for Lopez's character, telling her that they think she may be a sex addict.

"I learned the hard way - not all love stories have a happy ending," Lopez says at one point in the clip. "Whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, the answer was always... in love."

A refrain of her singing the lyrics "This is me" is repeated many times.

The film also stars Keke Palmer, Modern Family star Sofia Vergara and Trevor Noah.

Lopez's husband Ben Affleck is also set to star in the film.

The movie will be available on Prime Video from 16 February and will be released in tandem with her first studio album in a decade.

Posting the clip to Instagram, Lopez wrote to her 253 million followers, "I have not been this nervous, excited, scared and thrilled to share something with you in years!! The story of the journey from This Is Me… then to This Is Me…Now is the most personal thing I've ever done."

She continued, "The musical experience continues February 16 when This Is Me…Now the album drops and This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, my new Amazon Original, is streaming on Prime Video. Watch the trailer…NOW."
