A new TG4 series is to showcase unique Irish homes built along Ireland's coastline, lakes and rivers.
Tithe Cois Uisce ["Homes by the water"] will see presenter Síle Nic Chonaonaigh visiting a different location each week to meet those who have built houses by the water, including homes located on dramatic cliffs, near tranquil lake and on river banks.
The eight-part series follows on from the Tithe Cois Farraige ["Homes by the sea"] series and each episode is based on a different theme, including "old and new" and "ordinary and extraordinary".
The show also promises to explore some more unconventional homes, including a surfer’s converted camper van, a barge, a modular home and a passive house.
One episode will explore island homes and the difficulties of building on an island.

Climate change and its potential dangers to housing will be the focus of one the show's programmes. Irish poet and Aosdána member Paddy Bushe has lived on the water's edge in Waterville, Co. Kerry for 50 years and will speak about how his home has gotten closer to the sea over this time.
Tithe Cois Uisce begins on Wednesday 17 January at 8.30pm on TG4.
