Born of Jamaican and Nigerian parents, he was named as a 2fm Rising artist in 2019. His debut album, released in 2020, D|vision, was nominated for Irish Album of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize and debuted at number two on the official iTunes album charts.

His music has featured on EA sports’ FIFA soundtrack as well as hit TV drama Normal People, and he has supported rapper Nelly on his tour.

Speaking to RTE.ie, he said, "It’s an absolute honour to be one of six shortlisted acts."

"I would love nothing more than to represent Ireland as a force to be reckoned with on the world stage.

"I will be looking to carry the Eurovision ambitions of the country on my shoulders and I will do it with pride. I've always set out to bring Irish music to highest heights."

He said his song, Judas, is about "staying focused and faithful to your vision irrespective of the challenges you face in life, whether it be betrayal, setbacks, set ups - these challenges are personified as 'Judas’. And it's about recognising that you have the power to rise above this and achieve whatever goals you have set out for yourself."

The song features vocalist Toshín.

A total of six songs were selected for Eurosong 2024 from hundreds of entries received by RTÉ following a callout for submissions last year.

So far this week, Erica Cody and Ailsha were confirmed as hopefuls to compete in the contest, which will be held in Malmo, Sweden in May.

The final acts will be announced on The Ray D’Arcy Show on Thursday and Friday.

All acts will compete on The Late Late Eurosong special on 26 January, 9.35pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
