Coming up tonight we've got the eagerly-anticipated second season of the Northern Irish crime thriller Bloodlands, a classic Oscar best picture-winner, a special edition of Taskmaster and the return of hit horror-comedy What We do in the Shadows.
Bloodlands, 10.10pm, RTÉ One
The second series of the James Nesbitt and Charlene McKenna-starring crime drama Bloodlands kicks off on RTÉ One tonight. Season two will see Nesbitt, McKenna and their returning co-stars joined by a new cast member, Victoria Smurfit. In the first episode, Tom Brannick and Niamh McGovern are thrown back into action when the body of an accountant is found on the shores of the Strangford Lough. It isn't long before we realise the deep ties the accountant has to Tom's dark past.

Rain Man, 10.40pm, BBC One
In this classic 1988 American road comedy-drama, Tom Cruise stars as Charlie Babbitt, a selfish young wheeler-dealer who discovers that his estranged-but-wealthy father has died. Unfortunately for Charlie, his dad left virtually all of his multi-million dollar estate to his other son, Raymond (Dustin Hoffman), an autistic savant.
Taskmaster's New Year Treat, 9pm, Channel 4
Greg Davies and Alex Horne are back for a special edition of their show which sees them set a group of famous a variety of perplexing challenges. Joining them in this special will be TV and radio host Zoe Ball, Dragons' Den regular Deborah Meaden, music star Kojey Radical, actor Lenny Rush, and wildlife presenter Steve Backshall.
What We Do in the Shadows, 10pm, BBC Two
The hit horror-comedy What We Do in the Shadows, starring Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou and Harvey Guillén, returns for its fourth season on BBC Two. The vampires return from their world travels to find their mansion on the verge of collapse, but they have bigger problems to contend with when they find a strange new creature lurking around the house.

Ó Bhéal, 9.15pm, TG4
This feature-length documentary looks at the recent wave of Irish hip-hop and electronic musicians who have found inspiration in folklore, poetry and Sean-nós singing. Among those featured are Mory, Fehdah, Strange Boy and Oisín.
