But the couple are soon separated when Elliot is violently kidnapped. Held captive in a hidden location, he comes face to face with the McDonnell family, resentful enemies from his past, seeking revenge for actions that he can’t remember.

Meanwhile, Helen, terrified that Elliot is in danger, teams up with Detective Sergeant Ruairi Slater to track him down – a search that will have them cross paths with someone she’s not ready to meet. Back in Australia, Ethan decides to win Helen’s heart back.

Attenborough and the Giant Sea Monster, 8.00pm, BBC One

One hundred and fifty million years ago, dinosaurs ruled the land, but the oceans were dominated by a mysterious sea monster. Meet the pliosaur, the Tyrannosaurus rex of the seas!

Now, a giant skull has been found in the cliffs of the Jurassic Coast. David Attenborough investigates this discovery of a lifetime.

He is joining two of the UK’s most intrepid fossil hunters, Steve Etches and Chris Moore, on their perilous expedition to excavate the skull from its resting place 12 metres up on the cliff face.

David has been an avid fossil collector since he was a young boy but has never come across a find quite like this.

Using the latest technology to help unravel the skull’s mysteries, an international team of scientists and palaeontologists search for clues about how this fearsome beast not only looked but how it behaved, and the strategies it used to hunt its prey.

Mr Jones vs the Post Office, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One

The always excellent Toby Jones leads the cast in this four-part drama, written by Gwyneth Hughes, a re-telling of the British Post Office scandal.

A faulty IT system led to prosecutions of fraud, theft and false accounting for postmasters across the UK. In 2009, group of sub-postmasters formed the Justice For Subpostmasters Alliance.

The prosecutions were later ruled a miscarriage of justice, but many people’s lives had been destroyed along the way.

Jeopardy! 5.45pm, UTV

Stephen Fry (below) hosts a quiz based on the long-running American show, which was created by the legendary Merv Griffin in 1964.

The format sees players presented with clues in the form of answers and having to phrase their responses in the form of a question.

The show's first three contestants will be hoping their razor-sharp intellect and speed on the buzzer will be enough to be crowned the UK version's first-ever champion.
