Fair City is closing out 2023 with another twist in the Hayley-James storyline.
Hayley is determined to destroy her fiancé James for planning to kidnap her mother Sharon - the botched abduction saw Carol taken instead.
James later blackmailed Sharon after she pushed him down a flight of stairs.
Now, Hayley is pretending she is pregnant as she puts her revenge plan in motion.
But on New Year's Eve, it appears that James' conscience may have got the better of him.
"Please forgive me," he tells Hayley.
"It was me, with Zak Dillon. I kidnapped Carol."
