Speaking about the song, he says, "This song encapsulates a sense of the need to trudge through meaningless interactions in the search for a deeper connection, and I was inspired to write it because at the time I was reading a lot of psychology books in the hopes of decoding what sometimes seems like a complete mystery.
"I deliberately set out to use a mix of instruments, such as the violin and the cello, as I wanted to convey this sense of confusion, and I feel the stripped-down acoustic sound juxtaposed with the polymerisation of the multiple strings achieved this well."
Guest instrumental collaborators include cellist Shane Cavanagh, violinist Grainne McConville and Executive Producer Ross Francis Chaney who assisted with percussion and percussion overdubs. Additional backing vocal lyrics by Dave Smith.
