Luna Motif are a four-piece from Dublin who have released a new single entitled Firestorm. We asked them the BIG questions . . .
Tell us three things about yourselves?
Our first gig was on Halloween 2021 just when lockdown ended, our guitarist Gerry has never eaten a pear and if you google Luna Motif you may confuse us with a breast pump of the same name.
How would you describe your music?
It's like a rebellious teenager from a rock family, dating punk, but sneaking out to blues jams after midnight.
Who are your musical inspirations?
They range from Freddie Mercury, Peter Hook (below), BB King to Animal from The Muppets.
What was the first gig you ever went to and the first record you ever bought/downloaded?
Christo saw Alice Cooper in Cyprus when he was young, his first record was Slipknot's first album. Ross went to see Papa Roach in Dublin in 2002 and his first record was Kerrang! The Album, Volume 3. Danny’s first gig was The Killers in 2008 and his first album was The Killers- Sawdust. Gerry went to see Muse back in 2006.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Christo: Tataki by Argy. Ross: I Saw by Young Fathers. Danny: Overtime by Zach Bryan. Gerry: Any song on Hysteria by Def Leppard.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"Wrapped in plastic, it’s fantastic" - Aqua
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Christo: Endless Loop of Surprises by The Unexpected Twists. Ross: Temptation by New Order. Danny: Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Gerry: Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid.
