Maura Higgins reflects on 2023 on the Late Late Show: 'It's been such an incredible year'

Maura Higgins reflected on the past 12 months on Friday night's Late Late Show, saying it has been "such an incredible year".

The Love Island contestant-turned-presenter became a guest host and then social host on two Love Island spin-offs this year, saying she felt "very lucky".

Speaking to host Patrick Kielty, she said: "It was new for them as well. They've never had a social host and I was very lucky to host a guest host slot on Love Island USA and then I did another three in Love Island Games."

However the Longford native, who has been a fixture on TV screens since appearing on the reality show in 2019, says she doesn't let fame change her.

"Obviously, my life has changed with my whole career and everything," she said. "But one thing about me is I'll always stay honest and that's never going to change if anything I'm probably worse the older I get.

"I'm probably more honest I feel like the older you get you just really don't care."

The 33-year-old TV star also opened up about her love life, sharing with viewers that she is not single anymore and is in a "very happy relationship".

"He's with you tonight?" Kielty went on to ask Higgins.

"He is. He's there somewhere," she replied.

Kielty then called her boyfriend a "good-looking divil" and she responded: "Oh he is!"

The Late Late Show, Fridays, RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, 9:35pm
