Andrew Scott has weighed in on his All of Us Strangers co-star Paul Mescal taking on the iconic role of James Bond.
Mescal is a fan favourite to take on the role of 007 as speculation continues over who will step into the role following the departure of Daniel Craig.
Scott, who played the villainous Max Denbigh, aka C, in Sam Mendes' 2015 instalment Spectre, said he could see his fellow Irish actor playing the famous spy.
"He'd probably be a great James Bond," Scott told Variety at a special screening of All of Us Strangers at the weekend.
The Dublin actor added with a smile: "I want to see him in Gladiator first."
Mescal couldn't attend the LA screening of All of Us Strangers because he is currently filming the Gladiator sequel in Malta.

Scott, also famed for his roles in Fleabag and Sherlock, said that Mescal has sent him photos from the Gladiator set.
"It's gonna be incredible," he said. "It’s so exciting. I’ve seen some images that are going to delight the world over."
Scott and Mescal star alongside one another in the "incredibly moving" new drama All of Us Strangers.

Written and directed by Andrew Haigh (Weekend, 45 Years, Lean on Pete), the film is based on the 1987 Taichi Yamada novel Strangers.
Scott said they had a great chemistry on set. "We knew each other a little before, just the right amount," he said.
"We want to have that freestyle. We wanted that sexy feeling that when people who don’t sort of know each other and gradually as the story goes on they become more comfortable with each other…And we both really admire each other’s work so much so it was really really easy."
All of Us Strangers is due for release in Irish cinemas on Friday 26 January 2024.
