The track was was co-written and produced by Jake Gosling, who has previously worked with Ed Sheeran ad Jessica won the International Rookie award at the DennizPop Awards in Sweden in 2022.
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
My name is Jessica and I am nineteen. I wrote my first song in Irish. It was called Mise Sa Todhchai, which means Dear Future Self and that made me fall in love with writing. As well as music, I love photography, fashion and art!
How would you describe your music?
I would describe it as soul-pop. I'd like to say it is quite raw, passionate and honest from the heart! I tell the stories of my life through music and hope it makes people feel less alone.
Who are your musical inspirations?
My influences include Yebba, Adele, Dermot Kennedy and Alicia Keys.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
The first gig I went to was Ed Sheeran in the Phoenix Park. It was an incredible show. Ed is really inspirational to me as he started his career busking. I busk every weekend on Grafton Street and I love it because you can connect with so many new faces.
What was the first record you ever bought?
It was the Back To Black album by Amy Winehouse.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Probably White Ferrari by Frank Ocean.
Favourite lyric of all time?
'Woman to Woman, I just wanna see you glow’ - Little Simz. I think women should uplift and support each other and this lyric makes perfect sense to me.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I think it’s got to be If I Ain’t Got You by Alicia Keys. It’s a classic.
