Speaking about her new song, she says, "Behind Your Eyes is a cinematic insight into falling in and out of love. From the exciting days wondering if they feel the same way, to it finally happening, only to learn that the feelings are no longer mutual."

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

My Instagram and TikTok feeds consists of lots and lots of dog videos. I can't leave an art gallery or museum without buying a postcard and I’m the biggest scaredy-cat when it comes to horror movies.

How would you describe your music?

I would describe it as alt dreamy pop.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Regina Spektor, Phoebe Bridgers, Japanese House, Lily Allen and Sara Bareilles

What was the first gig you ever went to?

I am proud to say that my first gig was One Direction in Croke Park the summer of 2014. I had never seen so many people in one place. Harry Styles’ hair is even more fabulous in person.

What was the first record you ever bought?

I can’t quite remember the first album I bought, but I have a fond memory of while I was living with my family in Denmark. An American girl in my class invited me to her birthday party. Her Dad burned CDs of all of her favourite songs in the goodie bags as we were leaving. It had U2’s Beautiful Day and Bob Sinclair’s Love Generation and lots of other classics.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Sad to Breathe - Japanese House.

Favourite lyric of all time?

From one of the greatest songs ever written, Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell: 'Tears and fears and feeling proud, to say "I love you" right out loud, dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way’ it gets me every time."

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I Saw You in a Dream by Japanese House. I will forever be hooked on this song.

Where can people find your musically?

You can find my music on all the streaming platforms and I am @gemmcoxhere on social media.
