Bord Gais Energy Theatre announces six new shows

Dublin's Bord Gáis Energy Theatre has announced six new shows as part of its 2024 season.

I Should Be So Lucky is a new musical that features a mainly '80s soundtrack of hit songs, mostly written by super-producer trio of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman, more commonly known as Stock Aitken Waterman.

The show's music will include the titular Kylie Minogue song as well as Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up and Jason Donovan and Minogue's Especially For You.

Courtroom drama Twelve Angry Men will make its Irish debut in April, while Pretty Woman, featuring original music by Bryan Adams, comes to the theatre in July.

Pretty Woman will bring the iconic 1990 film starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts to the stage

Come From Away, the award-winning musical based on events in Newfoundland town of Gander during the week following the 9/11 attacks, will be staged in June.

It tells the story of a town’s reaction when 38 planes, carrying approximately 7,000 passengers, were forced to landed unexpectedly there in the aftermath of the attacks.

Come From Away has won four Olivier awards

The newly-announced shows join a host of other productions coming to Ireland for the first time in 2024, including the stage-crafted play Life of Pi, (February/March), Disney’s Aladdin (March/April) and the long-awaited Irish debut of US rap musical Hamilton (September to November).

The full programme is available at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre website.
