Beatles Night on BBC Two
The Fab Four festivities begin with The Beatles & the BBC at 8.30pm.
The relationship between the band and the Beeb was a special and fascinating one and this programme looks back at some key moments that saw the BBC document the band's journey to worldwide fame.
The changing dynamic is captured here through a combination of classic music performances and the very best moments from the BBC's archives, featuring songs including She Loves You and All You Need Is Love
That’s followed at 9.35pm by Sounds of Liverpool at the BBC.
A selection of performances from the archives of some of Merseyside's biggest and best-loved musical stars, ranging from You'll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Pacemakers to Two Tribes by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
After a break at 10.25pm for Later . . . there’s Sgt Pepper's Musical Revolution - with Howard Goodall at 11.10pm, where the composer celebrates and explores why the Beatles' 1967 album is still revered as an innovative, revolutionary and influential release.
Heading into Sunday morning, the night ends with Arena: The Brian Epstein Story at 12.10am.
It’s a profile of the Beatles' manager, who died of a drug overdose in August 1967, and features interviews with family, friends and musicians who worked with Epstein piece together his life and career.

The Voice UK, 8.25pm, Virgin Media One/UTV/ITV1
Emma Willis (below) hosts the return of the spinning-chair singing contest, with Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, Tom Jones and Will.i.am on the coaching panel once again.
In the opening edition, the four mentors will be selecting their teams through blind auditions, which groups have been allowed to enter for the first time in the programme's history.
JFK: 24 Hours That Changed the World, 8.00pm, Channel 4
Documentary exploring the last 24 hours in President Kennedy's life through original footage and oral history, from his arrival into Dallas to his body being taken by Air Force One to Washington DC.
The programme also examines the chaos and grief that swept a nation, and the subsequent arrest and murder of apparent sole gunman Lee Harvey Oswald.
In for a Penny, 6.00pm, Virgin Media One
Stephen Mulhern is in Edinburgh as he returns for a fifth season of the game show.
As before, he travels around the UK setting members of the public unusual challenges, giving them the chance to win anything from the price of their petrol to £1,000 in the final game.

Director Andrea Di Stefano's thriller, starring Joel Kinnaman and Rosamund Pike.
Ex-con Pete Koslow is working undercover for corrupt FBI agents Montgomery and Wilcox to bring down a Polish drug lord called the General.
Eventually Koslow owes his life to the crime boss and is forced to break parole so he can head back inside and facilitate the flow of narcotics to inmates.
Family Flicks
Clifford the Big Red Dog, 7.00pm, RTÉ One
Here’s a big dog family adventure based on the book series, starring Jack Whitehall, Darby Camp and John Cleese.
As middle-school student Emily Elizabeth struggles to fit in at home and school, she is given a small red puppy by a magical animal rescuer.
But the pup soon grows to gigantic proportions and attracts the attention of a genetics company who wish to breed super-sized animals.
Emily and her clueless uncle Casey have to fight the forces of greed as they go on the run across New York City.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, 5.55pm, UTV
The third – and arguably the best - in the fantasy adventure series, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane and Alan Rickman.
This time around the teenage wizard is alarmed to learn a dangerous fugitive sorcerer is searching for him.
Meanwhile, a new teacher at Hogwarts helps the bespectacled youngster to protect himself from the school's soul-sucking security guards.

First up in this double-header is Leinster v Edinburgh (KO 3.05pm) at the RDS.
Leinster were the dominant team in the regular season last term, winning 16 of their 18 matches, but they were upset by Munster in the semi-finals.
That’s followed at 5pm by Munster v Dragons (KO 5.15pm) at Musgrave Park, as Munster continue their defence of the title.
The hosts claimed a shock 23-17 win when the sides met at Rodney Parade last season thanks to a try by Rio Dyer and six penalties from the boot of JJ Hanrahan.
