This should be a fascinating story.

For nearly 50 years Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone has entertained many millions of moviegoers with iconic characters and blockbuster franchises, from Rocky to Rambo to The Expendables.

This retrospective documentary offers an intimate look at the Oscar-nominated actor-writer-director-producer, paralleling his inspirational underdog-story with the indelible characters he has brought to life.

Bobbie Gentry, 9.00pm, BBC Four

The hugely talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bobbie Gentry was one of the first women to enjoy success with her own songs, such as the unforgettable Ode to Billie Joe, as well as having a massive worldwide hit with Burt Bacharach and Hal David's I'll Never Fall in Love Again.

She so impressed the BBC when appearing on In Concert that they offered her her own TV show, and here are five episodes in row of the series from the late 1960s.

First up, there’s a guest appearance by Long John Baldry. Featuring Tears of Joy on backing vocals and dancing by Pan's People.

At 9.30pm Bobbie continues to sing of the fragrance, love, sorrow and humour of the Delta country, with a guest appearance by Donovan.

Then at 10pm, she is joined by Mason Williams, followed at 10.30pm by Jerry Reed, Sue and Sunny, and Hank Strzelecki. Finally, at 11pm there’s some more Mason Williams.

The Graham Norton Show, 10.40pm, BBC One

Among the latest batch of guests on Graham's sofa are pop legend Boy George (below) talking about his autobiography Karma, while actress Miriam Margolyes, whose book Oh Miriam! tells stories from her extraordinary life.

There's also Succession star Sarah Snook (she played Shiv), who is returning to the West End with her one-woman play The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Plus, Greta Lee talks about her part in romantic drama Past Lives and Ireland's own CMAT performs her new single Stay for Something.

Unwanted, 9.00pm, Sky Atlantic

If Gomorrah or My Brilliant Friend are anything to go by, this latest Italian series is not to be missed.

This drama is inspired by journalist Fabrizio Gatti's book Bilal, starring Sylvester GrothI. In Italian and English.

One of the world's largest cruise-ships takes 28 shipwrecked refugees on board, a group of whom hijack the vessel and hold the passengers and crew hostage when they learn the captain has been ordered to return them to Libya.

In episode two at 10.05pm, Arrigo battles with the difficult moral choice after being ordered to disembark the migrants, whille a meeting is organised between the refugees and passengers.

Stand Up to Cancer: The Takeover, 7.00pm, Channel 4

Live from London, Davina McCall, Adam Hills, Joe Lycett and Munya Chawawa kick off the charity's eighth televised fundraising special.

Together, they'll take over London's awe-inspiring Francis Crick Institute, a renowned hub for pioneering biomedical research, to celebrate the staggering breakthroughs in cancer research made possible by public donations.

Hilarious comedy talent and celebrity supporters of the campaign join forces to bang the drum for SU2C, and the Prince of Wales pays a heartfelt tribute to 'Bowelbabe', aka the late Deborah James.

Later there’s Don’t Look Down: The Final, 9.00pm, Channel 4, bookended by episodes of Celebrity Gogglebox for SU2C.

Ferry Bouman tries as a novice xtc-producer to get a foothold in the Brabant underworld.

But only when his lover Danielle gets to know the dark side of Ferry and his business, it becomes clear what price he has to pay to become the greatest.

Blue Eye Samurai, Netflix

This promises to be both a provocative and visually stunning cinematic series that immerses the viewer in a world of vivid adult animation with a live-action edge.

Set in Edo-period Japan, Blue Eye Samurai follows Mizu (voiced by Maya Erskine), a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise seeking the deliverance of revenge. TV-MA.

Invincible, Prime Video

Based on the Image Comics series of the same name, the show follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson and his transformation into a superhero under the guidance of his father Omni-Man, the most powerful superhero on the planet.

During his transformation, Mark finds himself struggling between his personal life and superhero duties, where he will be forced to prove that he can be as much a hero as his father.

The series' voice stars Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and JK Simmons as the Grayson family.

Nyad, Netflix

Annette Bening, Jodie Foster, and Rhys Ifans star in this biopic.

It's the remarkable true story of athlete Diana Nyad who, at the age of 60 and with the help of her best friend and coach, commits to achieving her life-long dream: a 110-mile open ocean swim from Cuba to Florida.
