But when Maya installs a nanny-cam to keep an eye on her young daughter, she is shocked to see footage that leads her to believe her husband might not be dead after all...

Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce (Adeel Akhtar) leads the homicide investigation into Joe's death while grappling with secrets of his own.

Emmet J Scanlan, who plays Shane Tessier in the limited series, said on Instagram that he had a "blast" making this show, adding: "Can't wait for yis to see it."

This is the fourth Netflix series based on the work of Harlan Coben, following Safe, The Stranger and Stay Close.

Writer Coben said of the project: "Fool Me Once is a pulse-pounder - a shocking story of how secrets and deceit have the power to bring people together while simultaneously tearing them apart. I can’t wait to see how this dream cast brings these characters to life."

Fool Me Once launches on Netflix on 1 January 2024.
