James goes too far with his gloating in Friday's Fair City on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
The bungling kidnapper is recovering from his injuries after being pushed down a stairs by Sharon.
James had admitted to Sharon that he was behind Carol's kidnapping - Sharon was the intended target.
Having told Sharon that he knows she was responsible for his injuries, James is now in his element - and his engagement to Sharon and Anto's daughter Hayley is back on again.
On Friday, Sharon and Anto discuss James having the upper hand as he continues to fool Hayley.
"The truth is whatever he tells her," says Sharon. "He's won, Anto. Just let it be."
Later, Anto confronts James - and James is quick to exploit Anto's vulnerability as a recovering gambling addict.
"The lying, sneaking cheat who ruined his family to fuel his habit," he scoffs.
Anto sees red.
Grabbing James by the face, Anto snarls: "You shut your mouth! You stay away from her, do you hear me?!"
At that moment, in walks Hayley.
"What the hell is going on here?!" she demands.
