The BBC has announced that the first season of the hit Irish crime drama Kin is to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Following Kin's success on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player, the BBC has acquired "the thrilling Irish crime drama" from the distribution company Fifth Season.
"The drama's cast is led by Clare Dunne (Herself), Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones), Sam Keeley (The Cured), Emmett J Scanlan (Peaky Blinders), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander) and newcomer Yasmin Seky," said the BBC as it announced the deal.
Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition, continued: "Anchored by a tremendous cast, Kin is a powerful and intense story of love, grief, family and crime, and its devastating ramifications."

"The series has clocked up more than four million lifetime streams in Ireland, with the second season averaging a 40% audience share in its Sunday-night slot and its finale becoming the most-viewed programme of the year outside of sport. We're thrilled that Kin has found its UK home with the BBC."
Written and created by Peter McKenna and co-created by Ciarán Donnelly, Kin is produced by BRON Studios and Headline Pictures, in association with RTÉ, with support from Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland.
Season two of Kin premiered on RTÉ One in the spring, and seasons one and two are available on the RTÉ Player.
A start date for Kin on BBC One and BBC iPlayer has yet to be announced.
