An exhibition celebrating late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is set to take place at The Museum of Style Icons in Newbridge next week.

The exhibition, titled Kurt Cobain, Nevermind, is in conjunction with Julien's Auctions. It has been billed as a "must-see" for Nirvana fans and will feature some very rare and valuable items that were treasured by the musician, who died in 1994 aged 27.

The pop-up show will offer fans the chance to see some of Cobain's musical instruments, handwritten letters and stage outfits at close hand, including his favourite Levi jeans which he wore while performing many gigs.

A major attraction at the show will be Cobain's blue Skystang I Fender Mustang electric guitar, which will go on display for the final time in Europe before being auctioned.

It was used during Nirvana's 1993 to 1994 tour dates, up to the band’s final performance with Cobain at Terminal Einz in Munich in March 1994, which took place just over a month before the singer’s death. It is valued at between one to two million dollars.
