Pierce Brosnan has been cast alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Brandon Lessard, in Unholy Trinity, a Western by Richard Gray.

Described as "a tale of revenge, dark secrets, and buried treasures", filming has already got underway as the project has secured a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement.

Set against the riotous backdrop of 1870s Montana, Unholy Trinity follows Henry (Lessard) after his estranged father gives him an impossible task just before he is executed - to murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn't commit.

Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove (Brosnan), the town's upstanding new sheriff, and a mysterious figure named St. Christopher (Jackson).

In a statement to trade publication Deadline Gray said: "Thrilled doesn't even begin to describe how we feel about collaborating with such exceptional talent on Unholy Trinity. It’s a captivating story, and we feel fortunate to be able to make an epic Western during the strike, working alongside SAG every step of the way."

Brosnan, who was born in Drogheda, can next be seen in the action thriller Fast Charlie, alongside James Caan who died in July 2022. He also stars in the upcoming drama Places, Please with Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Lily Rabe.
