There's a face-to-face reckoning for Dermot and Joan in Thursday's Fair City on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
Dermot has been released from prison after killing Joan's son Cian in a case of mistaken identity.
He had been seeking revenge against James, the one-time sugar daddy of Dermot's daughter Zoe.
On Thursday, Dearbhla urges Dermot to meet Joan and stop feeling sorry for himself.
"You killed her son," she says. "And she wants this one small thing from you. Man up and do it!"
"I'll decide what I do," Dermot replies angrily.
