The Miracle Club aims to shine a light on the stories and experiences of Irish women in the 1960s, the film's producer has said.
The movie from director Thaddeus O'Sullivan boasts an A-list cast including Maggie Smith, Laura Linney, Kathy Bates and Stephen Rea. Is set in Dublin in 1968 and follows a group of close-knit friends who win the trip of a lifetime - a pilgrimage to Lourdes.
Dublin-based independent production company ShinAwiL teamed up with UK co-producer Zephyr Films and City Entertainment from the USA to bring this tale to life.
Speaking ahead of the film's release in Irish cinemas on Friday, ShinAwiL CEO and founder Larry Bass said: "The role of women in Irish society has been largely airbrushed from our history until the 1990s.
"The Miracle Club not only gave us an opportunity to tell the stories and experiences of Irish women in the 1960s but to also represent the voice of women from working-class Dublin."

This is the first feature-length co-production for ShinAwiL, known for producing entertainment series including Dancing with the Stars and Home of the Year.
He added: "The Miracle Club is a passion project for all of us at ShinAwiL. The proliferation of global streaming platforms has brought worldwide content to audiences' fingertips.
"Now, more than ever, we need to push hard to bring Irish stories to the world, especially for the global diaspora so that they can still feel a connection to their homeland."

He added: "It was a privilege to get to make a film in our home city. Dublin, like most cities, has become very modern.
"Often the philosophy and humour of the local people gets sacrificed for prosperity as older communities move on. We are passionate about making more films in Dublin that saves our stories of older Dublin for posterity."
The Miracle Club is out in cinemas on 13 October.
