Tell us three things about yourself . . .
Rob, Aaron and Conall are three friends who've been making music together for years, and they agreed to let me in the band on a trial basis in 2018. Conall and I share lead vocals and guitar duties between songs. It's ambiguous as to whether I've passed my probationary period or not.
How would you describe your music?
It falls somewhere in that nebulous space between alternative rock and post-punk, I guess. Our main aim for our upcoming EP, Comedy, was to have a collection of songs aligned to one concept of a single sleepless night. We've been writing songs together for a while now, but this is the first time we've worked around a single concept. It's more focused, clear and cohesive than other stuff we've put out. It might even be good. We wrote around this theme and the songs formed naturally around it.
Who are your musical inspirations?
We have a pretty wide range of influences. I love the Beach Boys, Modest Mouse and Cumbia. Aaron exclusively listens to Live and Dangerous by Thin Lizzy. Rob exclusively listens to egg punk. I don't think Conall listens to music.

What was the first gig you ever went to?
Enniscorthy FDYS Monster Ball 2011. Adjusted for inflation, one of the greatest nights of my life. I was fourteen and we did a very fourteen-year-old skill-level cover of Brain Stew and that Nirvana song. If you look hard enough on the internet, you'll find it.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Foo Fighters Greatest Hits. I was gifted Busted's self-titled debut when I was five, though. Not sure which one I prefer. I remember the Busted CD had an insert that gave a little bio on each of the band members. It rocked.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Pitch the Baby by Cocteau Twins. I tried to listen to them years ago and they never did it for me, but I stuck on that album when I was mindlessly sleep-deprived in a Danish airport and it really lit my wick, in a good way. It's pretty good on a healthy amount of sleep too!
Favourite lyric of all time?
"You crumble at the sight of your favourite person's shadow" - The Best of You by Ovlov. Lyrics are always the thing I write last when it comes to making a song. In a way, I find the process of writing lyrics to be quite loathsome, but I do agonise over them. Ironic considering there are like a thousand different words in Dylan's Brain (possibly not true - hate counting).
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Bono's cover of Hallelujah. Or Jessica by the Allman Brothers.
Where can people find your music/more information?
The best way is through our linktree. That's where you'll find all our socials. We've got some stuff that's exclusive to Bandcamp, too. Check it all out. Our EP, Comedy, comes out in early 2024 and we have a few gigs planned in between.
