An international edition of reality dating show Love Island has been announced, with the trailer from the show published on Instagram on Monday.

Love Island Games will see memorable contestants from US, UK, Australian, German, Swedish, and French versions of the show take part.

Former contestant Maura Higgins will be the show's social media ambassador, a role she had on the recent US version of the show. She confirmed the news in an Instagram story on the Love Island USA Instagram page.

The series will be shot in Fiji, with Maya Jama, presenter of the Love Island UK, hosting.

Scottish comedian Iain Stirling, also a staple of the UK version, will narrate.

Nine contestants from the UK edition of the show will appear, including season four islanders Eyal Booker, Megan Barton-Hanson, Georgia Steel and Jack Fowler, as well as Mike Boateng, who appeared in the sixth series.

Professional dancer Curtis Pritchard, who was one of Dancing with the Stars Ireland's pro dancers for three seasons, will also appear on the hybrid series. He coupled up with Maura Higgins in series five, with the pair ending up in fourth place. The pair separated several months later.
