TG4 is on the hunt to find Ireland's best choir in a brand new series, kicking off on Sunday 15 October.
Curfá ('chorus') will see 18 choirs battle it out over ten weeks, in the hope of earning a spot in the grand final, where three choirs will compete for the top prize of €5,000 and the chance to sing on stage with country music star, Nathan Carter.
Presented by fiddle player Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, the show is recorded in The Helix in Dublin, in front of judging panel Moya Brennan, of Clannad fame, composer and arranger Colm Ó Foghlú and lead singer of Danú, Nell Ní Chróinín, who specialises in Sean Nós.
With choirs hailing from all over the country, the youngest choir hails from a secondary school in Loughrea, Co. Galway, and the most senior choir is the Mayfield Men’s Shed Choir from Cork.
Also featuring will be The Sea of Change Choir, a group of cancer survivors who came together after winning a world record for the largest skinny dip in the world.

The Visionaries Choir will also take part, with all members of this group being blind or partially sighted.
Mother and baby groups will be represented by The Harmammies Choir, who bring their babies to rehearsals, as well as a choir which comprises solely HSE frontline healthcare workers.
Ukrainians in Ireland will be represented by the Ukrainian Action Choir, whose members are refugees, and they perform as Gaeilge.
Cúrfa promises that a variety of genres will be explored throughout the series, including traditional, choral, jazz, pop and gospel.
Curfá will broadcast on Sunday nights at 8.30pm, beginning on Sunday 15 October.
