Journalist and author Aoife Moore will present a new RTÉ documentary centred around the pitfalls of online dating.

Fools for Love?, airing on RTÉ One on 4 October, takes an unflinching look at the hostile environment many women encounter on dating apps.

The Derry native meets users who have experienced everything from abusive messages to romance scamming, identity theft and so-called "revenge porn".

Among other stories, Moore speaks to one woman who discovered that the man she'd been seeing for a year was in multiple other relationships with women he'd also met on Tinder.

Having spoken out about her own experiences with online abuse in the past, Moore's personal connection to the stories she encounters adds an extra layer to the documentary's narrative.

She also meets the people who are trying to protect women from online predators and asks how we can make the space safer for everyone.
