Thewlis - named after acclaimed actor David Thewlis - are music journalist Danny McElhinney on vocals and rhythm guitar and Cormac Curtis on lead guitar/backing vocals and their latest track was produced by former Radiators From Space member Pete Holidai, who also played bass, keyboards and programmed drums and percussion.
Thewlis say The One Before The One is a bittersweet love song based on a question asked of Danny when a much younger friend of his announced her wedding. "All names have been changed to protect past protagonists," the band say.
The duo have released four singles since December 2021 - The Boy Behind Bowie; County Level; One Day Summer and The Manslaughter Ballad.
