Pick of the Day

The Late Late Show, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

Streaming on RTÉ Player

Patrick Kielty takes over hosting duties as the much-loved show returns, featuring a mix of celebrity guests, music, comedy, in-depth interviews and discussions on the stories that have the nation talking.

Following Ryan Tubridy’s retirement from the show last May, there were many names linked with the top job on Irish TV – but ultimately the gig went to Kielty, who used to watch the show as a child.

Then, when he grew up, he got to appear on the show as a guest. Now he gets to host the show.

Here’s my interview with him in the run-up to tonight’s debut.

Don’t Miss

Mrs Brown's Boys, 9.30pm, BBC One

More Finglas-based fun and games with Brendan O'Carroll, with Danny O'Carroll, Paddy Houlihan and Eilish O'Carroll.

This week, Agnes decides to try out speed-dating at Foleys, while a promotional scheme by Buster and Dermot backfires for the salon.

Later, the arrival of a new neighbour puts Agnes and Winnie's friendship to the test.

Live League of Ireland, 7.30pm, Virgin Media Two

It’s second versus first as Derry City host Shamrock Rovers (KO 7.45pm) in this pivotal Premier Division encounter at Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.

Derry City boss Ruaidhri Higgins

Reigning champions Rovers have won two of the previous three league meetings between the sides this term and another victory tonight would take them a step closer to winning a record-equaling fourth consecutive title.

But the Candystripes would remain very much in contention should they win this one and move to within a point of the Hoops with just six games to go in the season.

New or Returning Shows

Coco Chanel Unbuttoned, 11.05pm, BBC Two

Documentary examining the life of the iconic designer and her creations, including the little black dress, the tweed suit, and the chain handbag.

Coco Chanel's life was so extraordinary that it has long threatened to overshadow even her professional achievements.

She was the designer who started a revolution inspired by her own trailblazing and radical appetite for independence.

She liberated women from heavy, corseted clothes, giving them freedom to work, move and celebrate themselves.

But despite her triumph, Coco remained an enigma.

Until her death in 1971 at the age of 87, she veiled the truth of her growing up in an orphanage, her early years as a kept mistress and her sense of being a perpetual outsider.
